The 2011 Caribbean Alcohol Beverage Awards

Participants in the Caribbean Rum and Beer Festival have the opportunity to submit products to compete for the 2011 Caribbean Alcohol Beverage (CAB) Awards in either the rum or beer category. The competition will take place on 27th October 2011.

Products in each catergory will be judged by a ten person expert rum panel, or the expert beer panel made up of key industry influencers.

Members of the esteemed expert rum panel will include influential rum commentators from the International Rum XP panel, the editors of ‘Got Rum’ magazine as well as members of the Ministry of Rum.

The expert beer panel contains some serious 'heavy hitters'. The beer panel will include the Festival Guest of Honour Mr. Garrett Oliver a world acclaimed Brewmaster, author of the The Brewmaster’s Table’ and globe trotting beer advocate. alongside Mark McKenna author of the 'The Guide to Caribbean Beer'.

The competition is a blind tasting contest and judges will award Gold, Silver and Bronze accolades to the adjudicated top three products in each section. Products are appraised on four charactersitics; Appearance, Aroma, Taste & Overall Impression. With so much quality rum & beer produced in the Caribbean the competition is fierce and the winners deserve to be recognised as 'best in class'.
